PRIVACY POLICY & COOKIES

Sara Buk Jewellery is committed to protecting your privacy online. In this privacy policy I describe the type of personal information I hold on/for the ‘Site’ – www.sarabuk.bigcartel.com. This includes why I hold it, why I collect it, what I do with it and the controls in place to keep it safe. I keep your data in accordance with the new data protection laws under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

Email correspondence data/newsletter

I collect your Email Address through my sign-up forms. If you subscribe to receive my newsletter you need to know that I use MailChimp as a data processor to manage this information. (You will only ever end up on this mailing list if you have signed up for my newsletter, or if you have specifically asked me to add you to it.) You are required to provide an email address on the sign-up form, but please note that other identifying information such as IP address, time zone and geographical area may also be collected. This information is collected through sign-up forms on the Site, managed by Mailchimp and includes a mandatory double opt-in. You may unsubscribe from these emails at any time, and your data will be removed from my records when you do.

IMPORTANT NOTE: When I talk about "information", I am only referring to your contact details. I never have access to your financial information when you make payments using PayPal, Stripe, Big Cartel (my online shop), WorldPay (for payments by phone) or bank transfer. All sensitive financial information is held securely by the processing companies, and they never share this with me, or anyone else.

I use this information to send you monthly’ish newsletters (with updates and offers). I will only ever market my own products and services or provide external links when I consider them of interest, but these should not be considered a recommendation or advertising in any way. If you decide to look at any of these external links, the terms of this notice will not apply and I advise you to read the privacy information of the other websites.

Contact page

If you send me a message via my Contact page, you will be asked for your name and email address to enable me to respond to you. It is always your choice to contact me via this method, and if we enter into further conversation then any details about yourself that you disclose are entirely at your own discretion. Your confidentiality is respected and I will not share any of the contents of a private conversation with anyone else.

Blog comments

You may post a comment on my blog post anonymously. It is your decision if you chose to include your name or not.

Marketing data

I collect data relating to your preferences in receiving marketing information from me. On the sign-up form you may specify which information you would like to receive. I collect this information to ensure that I am only sending you the type of information you would like to receive, thus improving your user experience of the Site.

I will never sell or share your information with third parties. If you no longer wish to receive communications from me you have the right to unsubscribe at any time and can do so by clicking the 'Unsubscribe' link at the bottom of any of my emails.

User data

I collect data about how you use the Site. This data is collected by and processed by the analytics tracking system on Big Cartel and Google Analytics. This includes but is not limited to page views, browser type, IP address, requested URL, referring URL, timestamp information, length of visit to Site pages, the number of times you visit the Site, time zone settings, geographical location, and the devices you use to access the Site. This data is collected to run and operate the Site, improve customer service and personalize your user experience.

How long will your personal data be kept for?

Sara Bukumunhe will process (collect, store and use) the information you provide in a manner compatible with the EU’s General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). I will endeavour to keep your information accurate and up to date, and not keep it for longer than is necessary.

I am committed to ensuring that your information is secure. In order to prevent unauthorised access or disclosure, alteration, or destruction of your personal information, username, password, and data stored on our Site suitable physical, electronic and managerial procedures are in place to safeguard and secure the information collected online.

The website provider I use, Big Cartel, has cookies enabled for this site to make sure your computer (or other device) is recognised when you visit here again. At your request, I can confirm what information I hold about you and how it is processed. I will provide this data to you to the best of my abilities, within a reasonable timeframe. I may need to request specific information from you to help me confirm your identity and ensure your right to access your personal data.
